The Good Neighbor was formed in 2020 by eight artists who participated in the exhibition 'Endless Void,' held at the Democratic and Human Rights Memorial Hall in 2019. The artists agreed on the necessity of sharing critical awareness regarding the relationship between historical places and archives they encountered while producing their site-specific works. Through workshops and seminars, the collective organized their research around keywords such as image, prophecy, record, memory, and fiction.

The Good Neighbor participated in an artist residency program at K'ARTS Creative Studio from March 2020 to March 2021.

The Good Neighbor's research on archives began with an exploration of Aby Warburg’s 'iconographic analysis' methodology. The results of several workshops on this topic were presented at Open Studio during their artist residency.

Performing Archive is a multimedia installation (4CH Video Projection, Sound on Super Directional Speakers, Glass Objects, and Boxes) created based on the idea of archive as a space.

'We propose thinking of archive as a space. That space could also be perceived as time. What gathers in that space are images that pursue something. However, the gathered images cannot be exactly what they represent. Images are inevitably subject to interpretation and conversion. The space called archive does not exist when it is still. Just as a gesture appears and disappears at the same time, archive only becomes activated when a being passes through it.'
